Q. What is a Heritage Print?
Friedman's are proud to be able to offer a diverse and extensive range of printed fabrics. We bring together your favourites from our established Heritage Print collection with our very exclusive Digital print range. Although are print designs are now almost entirely produced digitally we do import sublimation paper for a small collection of long standing customer favourites, we refer to these as Heritage Prints.
Q. What are the benefits of printing digitally and are there any drawbacks?
The vast majority of prints supplied by Friedmans are produced digitally. This process produces beautifully clear prints with excellent depth of colour. When printing digitally, due to the way the colour is applied, there is always a possibility of fine lines or banding appearing in the print. Shading designs or areas of solid colour are particularly susceptible to this. Whilst every effort is made to provide line free prints we cannot guarantee that your print will be flawless every time. Refunds or reprints will only be offered on orders which we judge fall outside of a commercially acceptable quality given the nature of the process.
Q. What is Econyl?
Print base LIFE, made from Econyl is available now from Friedman's for all print designs. We encourage you to take a closer look at this high performance, sustainable techno-fabric. Contact us to learn more and request your sample. 0044 (0)161 975 9002. "Our appetite to create new products and buy new products is infinite. The planet's resources aren't. But it's okay because we can have both: new products and a better environment. Nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It's exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again. That means you can create new products and buy new products without having to use new resources."
Q. Are fabrics suitable for Swimwear?
The print process we use is Digital sublimation, which offers good performance for swimwear. As each individual print will have a different result, we advise carrying out your own tests in advance.
The vast majority of the plain nylon solids we offer are swimwear fabrics, however as our range includes colours dyed specifically for us, not all colour recipes may be suitable for swimwear.
We are aware of many customers using our fabrics for swimwear. We specialise in stretch fabric for multiple end uses. We don't personally perform any in-house testing. Each Industry has their own performance requirements and we cannot test for every criterion; therefore, we offer Sampling which means each individual can test fabrics (plain or processed) for their own individual requirements.
We can offer further guidance if you can advise further details of what you are looking for. Contact us.
Q. Do you have any clearance lines?
Friedmans do offer clearance fabrics however these are not advertisied on our website as they move very quickly. If you wish to discuss our current offers please contact us on 0161 975 9002.
